There is a certain myth and aura which surrounds the city of Coventry and many visitors will be surprised as to the amount of daytime activities on offer.
In terms of shopping there is a wide variety catering for everyone. This includes the West Orchard which has a whole host of well known retailers. Hatton Shopping World is home to many gift shops including arts and crafts and also many discount stores. Like many cities Coventry also has an old market place, only this one has been in operation since the 1300s. A whole range of shops dedicated to the antiques are also present in and around other shopping districts.
There are plenty of galleries and museums and these include the Coventry Transport Museum which is ideal for any transport enthusiast. Another transport museum worth mentioning is the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust which pays homage to the famous Jaguar car manufacturer.
The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum displays many tool making devices designed by Alfred Herbert and the Midland Air Museum may also provide a good insight into aviation. The Toy Museum is suitable for everyone and has many displays of toys even going as far back as the 16th century.
