There are a good range of sports teams in Coventry and some of them include the Coventry City Football Club and also the Coventry Rugby Club.
Coventry City Football Club nicknamed the Sky Blues have previously played in the Premiership. Nowadays they find themselves in the Championship. Their home stadium is Ricoh Arena which has an impressive thirty three thousand capacity. It was built in 2005 and officially opened in 2007. Located on the Northern side of Coventry, there is easy road access for all wishing to watch the clubs regular home games.
Coventry Rugby Football Club play regular rugby union football and have been a successful and decorated sports team in the mid 20th century. Their home ground is the Butts Park Arena which opened in 2004 and can hold up to four thousand people. However Coventry Bears seem to enjoy more prosperity and they play in the Rugby League Conference. They won the League back in 2002 and reached the play offs in the Challenge Cup.
Other notable sports venues include the Brandon Stadium home to Coventry Bees and also Coventry Sports Centre which is home to Coventry Crusaders basketball team.
